My main research interests are in psychological aspects of women's health, postnatal depression, adjustment during pregnancy and the puerperium, and infant feeding. I am interested in applying health psychology models to a variety of health behaviours. I currently supervise PhD students in infant feeding, post partum incontinence, stress in nursing terminations, reflexology and Integrated Care Pathways. I have recently examined PhDs in the Universities of London, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Abertay and Victoria, Australia. I am on the editorial board of Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychology, Health and Medicine, and Journal of Reproductive and Infant Psychology.
