Martin is the Principal Teaching Fellow in the School of Psychology with interests in intellectual disability and staff training. He is the Distance Learning Programme Director responsible for the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Masters (MSc.) courses, offered to staff working with people with learning disabilities.
He works on a number of collaborative projects with health, social service and voluntary sector organisations and various Scottish Government departments. This includes work reviewing health services, and membership of a number of national reference groups.
His research is concerned with staff training, challenging behaviour, and
how this impacts on the quality of care people with disabilities experience.
