David's areas of research include: the social, environmental and economic consequences of accounting practice and the influence of environmental issues on accounting and auditing practice and also on accounting education. He is also interested in exploring the role of propaganda in relation to accounting and finance - an illustrative example of interest in this area is the long standing misrepresentation of the ideas of Adam Smith.
