Allan M Findlay

Research Interests

• Relation between fertility, health and development. Research was based on survey work conducted while leading the demographic team of the Royal Geographical Society Research and Development project in Badia, Jordan. Involved a survey of 14000 persons - resulted in major population policy recommendations to the government of Jordan;
• Mobility of nurses/doctors. Studied in several different contexts including Pacific Asia, Canada, Australia and UK. Recent research involved analysis of UK work permit data, interviews with Department of Health and senior NHS managers on recruitment of nurses and doctors from developing countries. The results have been presented to the International Labour Office, Department for International Development and the Home Office.
