Nick Fyfe

Reader in Human Geography
University of Dundee

Research Interests

My research focuses on the geographies of public policy in urban environments. In relation to health, I have done work on the effects of forced migration on the mental well-being of intimidated witnesses and I am currently writing up an ESRC funded project examining the role of voluntary organisations in delivering social welfare which has included specific case studies of health care groups. In addition to articles published in international journals, I am the author of Protecting Intimidated Witnesses (Ashgate, 2001), the editor of Images of the Street: planning, identity and control in public space (Routledge, 1998), and co-editor of Crime, Policing and Place: essays in environmental criminology (Routledge, 1992) and The Urban Geography Reader (Routledge, 2003).
