Research activity relates principally to older people, particularly those with dementia, where I have specialised in exploring the subjective experience of living with the condition. I am a founder member of the Alzheimer Disease Research Centre at Dundee University. Recent research activity includes evaluation of health and social services, particularly where they seek to work collaboratively. This has involved me in projects concerned with the effectiveness of aligned (health and social work) budgets, with the response to SMART technology (including telemedicine) and hospital discharge arrangements for frail older people. My other related area of interest is the position of informal carers.
