My area of research interest lies in language, and in particular how it is affected by pathological change. Such pathology includes Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and normal ageing. In particular I study speech production and semantic representation. Work on control processes in language and their relation to the frontal lobes is funded by a grant (as a PhD studentship) from the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
