Kerry Mummery

Research interests

Kerry Mummery's research interests include the study of many aspects relating to health-related physical activity. Kerry is the architect behind the 10,000 Step program running in Australia (www.10000steps.org.au). The award winning project began as a whole-of-community health promotion project in 2001 and has now been adopted across the state of Queensland as well as interstate in Australia. Kerry is also the Director of the Centre for Social Science Research (www.ahs.cqu.edu.au/cssr/) at Central Queensland University, and has operated the Population Research Laboratory, a large-scale Computer-Assisted-Telephone-Interview (CATI) lab since 1999. The PRL conducts two annual omnibus surveys - the Central Queensland Social Survey and the Queensland Social Survey - which are omnibus surveys, open to university and community researchers to gather information from a representative sample of their population of interest.
