Research Interests

I have published extensively in the area of medico-legal and clinical risk management issues within maternity care. I am currently involved in preparing a bid for the Nuffield Foundation concerning health service litigants and complainants. I am setting up another study to examine the area of 'near misses' in clinical care. Other projects include an examination of the effect of work stress on the interpretation of physiological data, with particular reference to clinical outcomes; the development of a postnatal quality of life assessment tool; and the assessment of a nutritional educational intervention for pregnant teenagers.
