Research Interests

My main research programme is in safeguarding children from abuse and neglect. In particular, I have research interests in:

• Child neglect - recognition and response
• The role of fathers in supporting or exacerbating child abuse and neglect
• Medically unexplained symptomatology following childhood sexual abuse
• Children who witness or experience domestic abuse
• 'Good enough' parenting debates
• Vulnerability to abuse and neglect through sociocultural and environmental conditions, especially in the UK and in sub-Saharan Africa.
