Isabel Walter is a Research Fellow within SDHI, and is also an Associate of the Research Unit for Research Utilisation (RURU), a research partnership between the Universities of Edinburgh, St Andrews and Dundee (http://www.ruru.ac.uk).
She has held a range of previous research posts in higher education and in the civil service, and has conducted both academic and applied research in a variety of social policy domains, including criminal justice, health care and education. Most recently her work has focused on the use of research in public policy and public service delivery, including evidence-based policy and practice and systematic review methodologies. She is also interested in the use of narrative, drama and other creative media in knowledge production and transfer, and has specific expertise in qualitative research.
Within SDHI Isabel is currently working on a project examining the form, function and impacts of networks in health care settings, 'Delivering health care through managed clinical networks (MCNs): lessons from the North'.
